The Zveza Bank in Klagenfurt is the National Association of Slovenian Credit and Commodity Cooperatives in the bilingual region of Carinthia, which also counts the 7 Posojilnica Banks (primary cooperatives), 5 Zadruga-market-cooperatives, 1 livestock cooperative, 1 cooperative for biologically-friendly heating as well as additional legal and physical persons among its members. Zveza Bank is an Austrian bank, which has traditionally be characterised by multilingualism, looks back on more than 90 years of tradition, and is closely tied to the Austrian Raiffeisen Association.
The Slovenian cooperative system has existed in Carinthia since the Nineteenth century. The first Slovenian credit cooperative, established in St. Jakob im Rosental in 1872, is the oldest cooperative credit union of this kind in Austria.
